Final Day on Henk's CW&P Railway

Final Day on Henk's CW&P Railway

I've just received this e-mail from our good friend, Henk.
Hi Mike, Maybe you can use this message and the images for your blog.
The end of the Carleton Woods and Prescott Railway in Kemptville.
Attached images bring back happy memories and the farewell.
Henk

Thursday July 21 will go down as the last day of the CW&P Railway in Equinelle, Kemptville.

Most of you will know that my wife and I are moving to an apartment in February 2023. That means I had to dismantle my garden railway and had to get rid of my equipment.

The roadbed was after 8 years still in decent shape.

Most of the rolling stock went to George, Pat B. and Andrew.  George and Len bought the track and picked up the wood for the roadbed.

We recently bought a vacation property in Holland near Arnhem.

Rumour is that in a couple of years a small Dutch version of the CW&P Railway will see the light of day.

George and Len are planning a garden railway in Carleton Place.

Len picked up the last load of wood last Thursday.  For me that was the final goodbye.
Such a heartfelt day this must have been for our good friend, Henk.  Most certainly a day filled with mixed emotions.
At least a few of our OVGRS friends will make great use of all the equipment, Henk!
Thank you so much for sharing!
All the best, Mike Hamer, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
