Bernie sent me the pics and narrative for this "bit of insight" into the happenings in and around Craig Leigh. Thanks, Bernie, for the great contribution!
In the photo above, Lela and Paul are taking 301 out of Nelson Yard
301 has the green down to Mount St. Helens.
Lawrence, Chris and train spotter Doug. 303 is ready to depart Douglas Yard.
Doug watches as Bob brings his ore loads up to Craig Leigh.
Bob has a double header to handle the heavy loads.
Helen and Seanna have brought No. 2 into Craig Leigh and are positioning to pick up the outbound No. 15.
Bob has some pointers for Helen.
Seanna coaches as engineer Helen brings No. 15 past Douglas Yard.
Mike at Peter’s Pond determining his next move.
Some rather plump Penguins are not too happy about boarding those smelly cattle cars at Brunts.
Bob’s beautiful Rio Grande Southern 4-6-0 on Northland Ore Dock.
Steve taking 319 out of Douglas Yard.
Bob has returned with a long train of ore empties. Bernie brings Bob into the Douglas departure track to avoid an “S” turn off the main onto the wye and ore dock. The empty yard will soon fill up as Mike is about to arrive with 314 from Mount St. Helens.
Bob drills the newly minted Northland Ore Dock.
Two rather gorgeous engines, Bob’s SPC and Rio Grande Southern 4-6-0s.
Thanks for checking in on the "comings and goings" in and around Craig Leigh. I sometimes get to escape the eastern terminus of the railroad for a short hop down to Mount St. Helens where I can view what is happening all over the line from yet another shady location!
Cheers, Bernie Goodman, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
