Family Day In Fred's Boardroom

Family Day In Fred's Newly Refurbished Boardroom

Happy Family Day to our entire OVGRS family!  And...what a wonderful family we are!

We are there for each other.  We support each other.  We share laughter and friendship with each other.

How much better can it get!  Well...the boardroom has undergone a few changes which we will see today!  We thank Mark for sending along these great looking images!

Here is Mark's e-mail to me.

"Hi Mike, I visited Fred this afternoon and managed to snap a few pics of the GORGEOUS renovation work Fred has done with the “OVGRS boardroom”. A number of significant upgrades include:

- A “fire” in the caboose stove

- new shelving holding some great looking locos and rolling stock

- the new OVGRS polo shirts, in three colour options. Wonder when those will be available to order? :-)

- Lots of lanterns throughout. See if you can spot them all.

I think some of our friends helped with various aspects of this “re-modelling” so I should let Fred fill in the details.  But I think you should make a blog post of out this, if Fred agrees. It would be a great way to share an update with the Operators’ Group, until the spring when we can all gather again!"

 Mark

Thanks, Mark, for the great explanation!

Neil is looking after our OVGRS shirt initiative.  Here are three samples to view at the moment.  Neil will have further information regarding sizes, colour options and price.  Look for information in this regard in the weeks ahead!  Thanks, Neil, for taking this on for us!

Fred mentioned in an earlier e-mail..."BTW…hopefully I will have the stove equipped with a complete stove pipe into the (Chimney) wall by Sunday night….the smoke is starting to set off the alarms at the moment….!!

Thank you, Mark for the photography…at least one of the two GR Convention cars will occupy part of a shelf.

Lawrence helped me make sure the shelves were put up level, and gave me good advice, with suggestions.  My neighbor Mike Charleboise helped me get the Pine shelving."

Fred, everything looks so clean, neat & tidy!  Love it!

The front window.

Some of the hanging lanterns.

Colourful.

Super job fellas!

Update!  Mark visited Fred Sunday evening around the same time I was working on this blog entry.  The stove now has a new vent pipe.  Wow, looks great Fred!

Mark tells us that the hand sanitizer convention car holds a rightful place of honour on one of the shelves!  Thanks for sending along these two latest images, Mark!
Wonderful! Thanks to all those who assisted Father Fred on this fine-looking project!
All the best, Mike Hamer, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
