Belleville's Awesome Session - Part Three

Third Section From Our Belleville Trip

We thank Pat for his images and captions which acted as the 'second section' of blog entries from our recent trip to Belleville.

The images in this third entry showcases the colourful nature of Barry's railroad.

They also showcase the colourful nature of Bonnie's spectacular gardens!

Here is another glance at the cheese factory with the new reefer residing on its spur track.
I'll take some of that fine cheese, Kurt & Barry!

Gerry, Kurt, Pat, Paul & Chris listen in as Barry goes through his pre-ops explanation of items during the early morning conclave.

There's Barry now!

Eric, Tom, Fred & George join in as well.

The coffee is hot and we will be 'hot to trot' out on the high iron!

Ya gotta love this EBT steamer sticking its snout out for a breather!

Hey, check out these aerial views from Moe's drone video!

Even though the umbrellas are up, we get a great sense of the overall look of things.

We are in the western sector of the railroad here near the yard at Belleville and the area known as West Ben.
By the way, Moe sent along this drone video footage with the promise of more to come our way.  Thanks Moe for sharing this with us!

Paul's diesel takes charge at the eastern throat of the yard at Belleville.

Love that Rio Grande end car!

Chris and I have our Train 601 arriving the junction area on the outskirts of Kamaron City.  We will soon thread our way through Juliana Junction.

Train 601 charges towards Trista Centre out from Hayes Fuels.

The crew takes the outer track along the sweeping curve to gain access to the yard throat.

We spot Ellens Feed along with the wonderful structure Chris had built for Barry including the circular storage bins!

Roger is engaged with his switching moves near Juliana Junction.

Roger appears in this video working the sidings at Kamaron City.

His UP power drifts back and forth along the spur as he deposits traffic and lifts other cars from the sidings.

Juliana Junction is a fine meeting place for trains.

Trains meet in Kamaron City on this video.

Train 402 takes the crossovers heading east.

A nice 'going away' shot of the power on 402.

Crossover video action.

Like our train before, 402 enters Trista Centre.

The train's arrival as captured in this video.

Chris and I run light from Trista Centre to Kamaron City as that is the location where our first lifts will take place.

Short video of caboose hop into Kamaron City.

Heading west from Kamaron City we encounter the tunnel through Waterfall Mountain.

With our headend in darkness our tail end remains in daylight.

The lovely farm scene Barry has created in Kamaron City is a beauty to behold.

Train 603's departure out from Kamaron City as captured on video.

603 reaches the outskirts of Shaanenville East.

Arrival video at this fine looking location.

We find other traffic upon our arrival.

603's movements in and around Shaanenville East as found in this video.

Fred, Barry, Chris & Paul enjoy a break in the action.

I spot a steamer working hard in Cumberland.

Yet another colourful caboose!

Aha!  The TH&B makes an appearance here.  This is a GP9 with torpedo tubes atop the long hood and this puppy typically runs long hood forward.

The yard is active throughout much of the session seeing trains arriving from the east and the west.

This lovely East Broad Top steamer is about to pierce the tunnel entrance on a heading toward Kamaron City.

A diesel sandwich!

Crews share the area.

We appreciate the stonework Barry has laid down here.

An earlier shot of that EBT steamer in action running out from Shaanenville East.

Here's a lovely consist of - CG7s.  That's short for Canada Geese - seven in all.

The aisleway between Belleville and Orlean's is wide enough to allow the operators to work independent of each other.

Belleville Yard basks in the sunlight of the early afternoon.

We hold Train 603 outside yard limits as we await a clear alley for our approach into Belleville Yard.

In this video Chris and I discuss our strategy upon arrival outside Belleville which is occupied heavily at the moment.

Love this diesel engine!

Another crew works the eastern fringe of Shaanenville.

Shaanenville video work.

Roger steams out from Cumberland.

With my run complete, I join Roger's crew as we arrive Orleans.

The depot in Orleans will be expecting a passenger train at some point with all those folks hanging around the station.

Cumberland to Orleans video tape!

I've snapped this photograph which looks over to Trista Centre in the distance.

Roger's run was spotted earlier in Kamaron City.

Lovely!

We northerners appreciate the effort made to get fruit shipped up across the border from the southern United States.

Aha!  Another glance at the Ottawa Central unit making money for the railroad.

And...we find ourselves back in Brockville after enjoying a dinner of fish'n'chips.  Indeed, it's railfan time!

Pat & Gerry check out the track conditions in anticipation of a future train.  Looks 'all red' with the signals to the west...although perhaps we may see an eastbound.

Aha!  The signals for the Ottawa cut-off tell us that we will be witness to an eastbound train...most likely VIA.

So-o-o...Moe checks out the situation to the west where that eastbound would be hailing from.

Sure enough, engine 6431 arrives from the west and will take the cut-off to Ottawa.

Mere moments earlier Ed and some travelers stand well clear of the platform as the engine slows to a stop at the station.

Video of the arriving train from Toronto bound for Ottawa.

Arrival video.

The train gets underway.

We note the yellow aspect atop the red is flashing.

Note that flashing yellow in this video effort.

The tail end!

Farewell video...of the train bound for Ottawa.

And...speaking of Ottawa, here is Father Fred in deep discussion on everything 'trucks and couplers' on Saturday morning back here in the nation's capital.

Inclement weather cancelled our train operations in Fred's backyard, but Fred, Diane, Ed & I enjoyed some great conversations over coffee in the boardroom!

Like me, Ed was a teacher.  He went into teaching following his retirement from the Navy.

Well, that's all from me for this entry.
I have shared this image before of two Mike's...Mike W. is my dentist and my sax and bass player in my R'n'B band and me!
I'm holding my Fender Telecaster Thinline guitar...the same guitar on which Ritchie Valens played that great La Bamba guitar solo!
The front is made of ash and Lisa bought me this guitar the year we lost our ash tree on our boulevard due to the ash borer beetle invasion.
Thanks again to Barry & Bonnie for hosting us on a beautiful summer's day in Belleville!
We are the OVGRS of Belleville, Brockville & Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
