Boardroom Makeover

 Boardroom Makeover

Indeed, Fred's boardroom has been the subject of a fabulous makeover of recent.

Pat, Mark and Fred's neighbour, Harry, have snapped some great looking images of the "new digs".

Looking great, Uncle Fred!

Pat snapped the first four images on a Sunday when he would pick up Fred to head over to George's place.  Check out the repaired ceiling above where he is sitting!  Awesome!

The "man himself" is admiring the new lighting in the boardroom.

Egads!  Pat also managed to snag a shot or two of the crater across the street!

Yet another fancy dwelling seems to be going up in short order!  Thanks for these images, Pat.

Mark was over one day of recent and shared the next batch of images for our enjoyment. Mark goes on to say, "I was greeted by this wonderful view of the newly renovated Boardroom 2.0 this morning. Look at that gorgeous “dropped ceiling” - a fantastic piece of workmanship. Almost seems artistic. And those fresh Timbits seem quite inviting… Keen-eyed observers will notice that the “chandelier” is no longer mounted at an angle, but is rather “in-line” now with the new ceiling."

"From the same angle, a portrait-orientation to better showcase the new ceiling. And the Timbits..."

"Looking up, you can’t even see that anything had ever been amiss… And there’s a much-improved arrangement of locos on new shelves. And those Timbits just keep appearing in each picture… mmmmm…."

"Indeed the Boardroom 2.0 is ready for OVGRS to both conduct serious “railroad business” and entertain work crews and friends alike… So how about them Timbits?"

"Most impressive Shelf Queen arrangement fit… for a King? :-) Keen eyed observers will notice that this corner of the Boardroom is populated with more shelving than before..."

"And this is why. Fred took advantage of the ceiling renovation work to re-arrange some of his workspace. Cabinets were consolidated, grew in height, and in so doing, displaced rows of shelving to allow for more of the graceful Shelf Queens to occupy pride of place in the newly renovated “digs”."

"Looking great! Would make any stationmaster proud. (though we’ve just moved into Daylight Savings Time, no longer EST… har har…)"

"One final touch - the “lamp corner” with caboose marker lanterns, all lit up for the occasion. There’s even a timer… how clever."

"Alas, not all could be saved. As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. After years of loyal service, this Boardroom chair has served is purpose, and, missing a castor, is destined for curbside pickup for destinations unknown..."
Thanks, Mark, for sharing these wonderful images!

Fred's neighbour, Harry, snapped these next set of pics while over visiting Fred.

Harry also has a good eye and steady hand with the camera.

We feel that Fred's new boardroom should appear in one of those home makeover magazines.

Or...better still...one of those home makeover shows on television!

The lamps really jump out at you in this darker image.

A busy workbench indeed!

Love the locomotives in two dimensions and in three!

Do I spot a wee drink in front of Fred?  Big grin!

Looking over to the front entrance of the house.

Lots of great looking railroadianna

Check out those great looking golf shirts!

Gotta go now and catch train131 to Montreal!
Thanks, Harry, for these fun pictures.
All the best, Mike Hamer, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
