More From the Group of Five

More From the Group of Five

Moe sent along a batch of images from Saturday morning.

We catch up with his CN Extra piercing the steel on its journey westbound.

Earlier we had caught up with the train out from Spruce.

Earlier still heading into Spruce.

Departing Craig Leigh.

Leaving the Northland Ore Dock.

Much later we find his train rounding the wide curve in "The Corners."

On into Bell.

Moe captured Uncle Fred in the lounge.
Thanks for sharing those images, Moe.  I'll have a few more later.

I've managed to track down that gorgeous Union Pacific unit on the outskirts of Nelson Yard.

Ducking under the foliage near the Fallentree Mine.

Tiptoeing eastbound onto the trestle.

A lovely sight she is!

Through the iron.

Approaching Lilly.

Heading into the curve.

On a downward slope...

...through the canyon of lillies.

And...finding daylight once more.

Over the gut.

Into Blockhouse.

Heading under where she just went over!

Bernie has arrived Glenn Robertson as Doug holds Nelson Yard.

Marcel follows Bernie's progress out from the Glenn...

...and into Bellamy.

Bernie's taking his chances along RP&M rails.

Past Rat Portage.

Into the hole...

...and out from Pratt's Bottom.

You've done good, Bernie!

Doug has reached Bell...

...and cleared Rat Portage...

...where he arrives Nelson Yard...

...in this previously viewed image.  He will depart Nelson Yard in short order.

He's next up for Lilly.

Into the canyon...

...and out.

Over the gut.

Fred and Andrew enjoy a chuckle or two.

Life is good!

Andrew and Neil check the yard trackage over.

We find Marcel down the hill from Bloclhouse.

He's about to take on the pedestrian crossing.

Battling the grade is no problem for this beast of beauty.

Indeed, she is a beauty of a beast!

The flowers are in bloom...

...as Marcel approaches the crest of the hill.

Round...

...the bend...

...and into Spruce.

Yup, she's all spruced up.

In the area that may just see change.

That big curve to the east of Spruce.

A drone shot.

Into Mount St. Helens.

Along the property line.

A side on shot...

...and a going away one.

Reaching Northland...

...on a slow order...

...as Marcel makes Douglas Yard.

Destination reached!

Moe and Marcel enjoy a short chat...

...before Moe must follow his train.

Into Glenn Hammond...

...with no stoppage...

...and through the junction.

Bernie's made the grade...

...and reaches the suburbs of Bell...

...where we find the interchange tracks.

Looking good...

...on that curve...

...into Bell.

Bernie reverses...

...to check on a turnout...

...and then proceeds into Stuart Yard.

With the tail end...

...and the pond lillies showing...

...it's time to say farewell...

...but before we do...I just had to add this picture of one of our own members, Johnny ChuffChuff, promoting our wonderful hobby with young children and their beautiful families.  Johnny, your contributions are so valued.  Our only wish is that we lived closer so we could see you more often!

To Father Fred, we give thanks for another day of fun and frolic along the right of way of the IPP&W and RP&M.
Thanks, Moe, for the final three pics (before Johnny's) along with the many you sent that appear at the top of this posting.
Until next time!  Mike Hamer, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
