Workday Wednesday June 8th

Workday Wednesday For June 8th

Some of the regular work crew arrived Fred's this morning to prepare the railroad for Saturday's session.

While rain had been in the forecast, none of it arrived Fred's property.

Ya gotta love those rainy forecasts which bring total sunshine!

It was a great pleasure to meet Fred's brother, Ted!
Ted hails from Vancouver Island where he lives just outside of Victoria.

The Siberian Iris are in bloom in the Rust Garden.

When I arrived, Pat was already hard at work weeding the right of way.

Here's the latest industry down in Peter's Pond with the newly installed spur track

Why, it's a cooperage!

While casks are made here...the important question remains...

...which facility do the casks get transported to along the railroad line?

It's fun having a barrel-making facility along the IPP&W.

Bernie had sent me these images from last week of the trackwork around the new facility.

The opposing spur to the fishery will hold two freight cars.

Yup...just enough clearance!

Lawrence also managed to create this wonderful facility over the off-season.

It's the addition to the Chandler's Sludge Co.

Let's imagine the "R' there.  It looks fabulous up in Cedar Rock, Lawrence!

Yet to be outdone, Lawrence has delivered this trestle.

It's meant to head over to George's place.

Beautiful handiwork. Lawrence!

Love it!

A trio of trestles with a fourth off in the distance!

Love that Rust Garden!

Now what is Lawrence up to?

It's the Brunt's Brewery arriving the property.

Indeed, Lawrence has fixed it up nicely.

A new paint job!

Nice lettering!

"I'll have a beer!" many of the operators are heard to say.

Yet another new facility built by Lawrence over the winter break, named "Dutchman's Stores" in honour of Henk.

Pat is captured hard at work.

Still more of Lawrence's handiwork down in Rat Portage.

Skipper Bernie mows the lawn.

Here's Ted!

Grant made an appearance to pick up his new OVGRS shirt along with Pat.

Grant's cap!

The layout is looking very green!

Bernie and his Java.

Ted & Fred!
Again, Ted, it was a joy meeting you this morning.
We are looking forward to our session this coming Saturday with a full contingent of operators.
Let's hope the rainy forecast will result in sunshine...just as this morning's rainy forecast had done!
All the best, Mike Hamer, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
