We Will Never Forget
In cemeteries around the globe are buried many of our loved ones from the past who served in many wars.
A visit to these sacred places allows us to contemplate what they went through; many just out of their teenaged years.
Yes, we take a moment aside each Remembrance Day to honour the fallen.
And...many grave sites that exist are unmarked.
In Canada we commemorate Remembrance Day on November 11th.
Our American brothers and sisters commemorate Memorial Day on the last Monday in May.
It is fitting to celebrate our American friends who have traveled many hundreds of miles to attend our annual "Invasion of Friends" weekends for so many years!
It has always been a joy for Fred and our entire gang to welcome our friends from the United States.
Remember when the BBQ was located in this position?
One aspect of the fun of having friends from 'far away' visit is the fact we get to see new power we have never seen before...
...and this Ohio Central Geep surely delighted everyone!
How about Southern #5117 in that snappy regalia!
Looks like the Ohio Central runs long hood forward!
This lad is no visitor from afar...why, it's skipper Bob running the ore train once again!
Hey, check out the road switcher in the Southern's green & cream scheme.
A pure delight she is!
One of our local chaps brought along this CN endcab.
Our Southern friend is about to take a spin on the turntable.
Love the camera angle on this Canadian National Geep!
Steve is running my locomotive down from Firgrove and on into Bell.
Hey...it's Christmas in the summertime!
Well, when our American friends arrive it feels like Santa has arrived with all sorts of goodies to delight our railroad...including this U.S Mail car!
Hmmm...the FFHW?
What railroad on earth could these letters represent?*^%$#
Aha...the FFHW is the most special of railroads delivering "the goods" our way!
We must thank Johnny Chuff Chuff for this entertaining car!
Henk's grandson was but a wee lad back then.
He's all grown up now!
Ah...such a delight it was to see this business car in attendance!
The Lake George & Boulder line is represented by locomotive #2119.
Hey, Ric must be hanging out somewhere.
His two little critters delighted this railfan every time he saw them trackside!
Gordie's steamer worked the vast Nelson Yard for the full day of narrow gauge ops.
She's a delight, Gord!
There's Bruce & Jean of "Chandlers Sludge" fame!
They have a strong string of MT ore cars in tow as Paul & Pat work the siding tracks in Ironwood.
Love the weathering on Gord's loco back in Nelson Yard!
Strange and unusual power often finds its way onto the IPP&W and the RP&M railways.
A closer view.
Note the overpass that used to exist at Craig Leigh!
Some big power has it easy pulling Passenger #1 out from the terminal.
Speaking of big power...Mr. William Sn3 Scobie is one powerful fellow.
Indeed, narrow gauge 'is' standard gauge in his world!
Gaetan & Nicole always made the trip up from Montreal to run trains during our invasion weekends!
The plateau is witness to this wonderful pair of alien beings!
Ric, this is one masterpiece of power!
And I thought I had a big nose!
Just kidding there, Mike!
Love it!
Aha...Patty must be on property!
Canadian Pacific power is enshrined in video!

She's beautiful Pat!
"Eastward Ho" on Vid-e-o!
And we spot the missing 'C'!
Missing 'C' video work.
A low angle shot captures a meet with Passenger #1 and an IPP&W way freight working the town of Spruce.
Spruce meet video.
Here I am with one of our American friends!
And here is Terry who passed away a short while ago.
You are already deeply missed Terry!
And Father Fred enjoys the camaraderie Terry offers.
Terry flew to Canada from his home in the UK just for our invasion weekend.
Now...that is dedication!
We are all members of the OVGRS family!
Well, I had better wrap this up and get dressed warmly to head outside to shovel the white stuff as Ottawa has just been hit with its first snowfall of the season this evening!
Yikes!
We remember all our American and Canadian service men and women who sacrificed their lives so that we are able to enjoy the life we do today.
Lest we forget.
