Session #20 Final Views

We catch up with many of the train crews in our final views of the ops session this past Thanksgiving weekend.

Bill and Doug are held at the red signal with RP&M Train Rat 71 as Pat approaches the junction with Train 15, the Pool Train.

We divert the pool train through Nelson Yard, a rare move, but not unprecedented.
The Pool Train will simply back into the station at Glen Hammond and Rat 71 will have a clear lane up to Rat Portage.  Creative dispatching, that is!

328 descends the grade between Firgrove and Bell.

Garry is at the helm along with Chris.

They arrive Track 4 in Bell...

...then begin working the eastern sector of the yard.

Train 15 sneaks through Nelson Yard.

Heads out away from the throat...

...and backs into the station in Glen Hammond.

It seems Pat will have some work to conduct here.

Jean and Sid look on from afar.

Steve has 314 stopped in BLockhouse.

Pat begins his work in the Glen.

Len and Brian haul 303 out of Ironwood...

...bound for Spruce.

They have run around their train to handle their switching chores.

Steve pulls out of Blockhouse with 314.

An aerial shot of 303.

The crew has drilled the facing siding.

314 approaches Spruce on a slow order restriction as they will meet 303 at Spruce.

Paul and Paul are on their third leg of their journey...

...as they shove a cut of cars...

...deep along the spur tracks...

...in Mount St. Helens.

Looking good lads!

Bernie and Pat had swapped locomotives.

Bernie runs Pat's NYC switcher...

...in order to...

...offer greater power for Pat aboard the Pool Train.

Thus, the reason we have been watching Bernie's TH&B Geep haul Train 15 around both railroads!

Sid and Jean visit Bernie.

A dome car at the terminal in Craig Leigh.

The always shady Mount St. Helens.

303 in Spruce...

...with 314 climbing up closer...

...for a meet...

...in Spruce.

The crews offer each other their pleasantries and then 303 is on its merry way to Nelson Yard.

Steve awaits Seanna appearance to discuss potential moves here.

303 is downgrade out from Spruce...

...as Steve and Seanna begin to toil in Spruce.

303 enters the canyon.

I spot my locomotive on RP&M 67.

303 on approach...

...to Nelson Yard.

Mason has set the turnouts...

...for the arrival/departure lane.

Neil, Henk and Pat are impressed with Mason's prowess in the yard.

Pat has completed his moves in Glen Hammond...

...and gains clearance to Blockhouse.

Steve and Seanna drill the team track in Spruce.

Paul observes the movement of his train...

...as his colleague, Paul, smiles in the corner of the picture!

Garry is the guzzling lad on this day as Chris is oblivious to his crewmate's actions!

319 arrives Ironwood.

RP&M 67 heads into Bell along Track 4.

328 is reaching its termination point in Glen Hammond as the train hammers across the diamond.

Almost home as the train passes the Bellamy depot.

Finding home turf in Glen Hammond.

My locomotive enjoyed toiling on this day along RP&M rails.

The day's work is done.

Train 15 returns to Ironwood where it meets the crew aboard 319.

Len mans the locomotive aboard 313 in Peter's Pond.

Brian's locomotive with Len in the cab!

The ore cars add to the look...

...at Ironwood Brick.

15 rolls uphill into Mount St. Helens.

Pat has the train stop at the small depot here.

313 up in Cedar Rock.

On the return run.

Love the splash of colour this rolling specimen offers this railfan!

A lovely couple framed by the spruces in...well...Spruce!

Why, it's Seanna and Steve!

And...their cool looking locomotive!

Some nice rolling stock specimens at Wellington Lake.

Train 314.

"I'm all done!" Henk calls out.

Lisa has brought my little puppy dog out to pick me up as Jean looks on.

Like her master, Lilly is an avid railfan.  Yes, she knows the rules not to jump up on the stone abutments!  She's well trained...pardon the pun!

The sedum in the garden turns a rust colour in the fall.
This is a great plant with which to make model railroad trees for your indoor layout.

Bill entertains the ladies.

Henk, Neil and Moe...

...enjoy a chuckle together.

Andrew offers up an offering to the crew.

Pat obliges.  Thank you Andrew!

Flowers for Fred...

...offer colour to the table.

Jean enjoys the companionship found at Fred's place.
Thanks, Fred, for hosting a great session, as always.
We are truly thankful for our Saturday mornings at your place!
All the best, Mike Hamer, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
