Pics From Pat From Session #2

Pat's Pics From Our Second Session of the Season

We thank Pat for sending along this collection of pics and vids from Session #2.

Pat did so while also running a train with Pete as his partner.

Thanks, Pat, for taking the time to do so on our behalf.

Passenger 32 has just rounded the bend following a slight service interruption.

Train 302 is hot on the heels of the passenger train.

302 has taken Track 4 in Bell in order to allow access to the interchange tracks in the distance.

The crew has reached Peter's Pond where they work the team track.

From the Pond they had reached Nelson Yard.  This image showcases the crew aboard a new train, 312, seen departing the environs around Nelson.

Through the Fred Mills Trestle atop Brennan Gap.

Pat has managed to find Bernie up in Craig Leigh.

312 nears the end of its run.

The consist is dropped off in Douglas Yard.

Yardmaster Bernie has already made up Pat & Pete's third trick of the morning, Train 321 bound for Glen Hammond.

The signal tower I built for Henk has found a home just to the east of Bell.

Lunch time as Moe and Paul get cooking!

We do enjoy each other's company so much each Saturday morning!

The crew lounge area.

Pete, Jean and Sid enjoy a laugh or two...or three!

Pat found Train 32 in the corner.

He followed the train into Bell.

Train 312 rounds the bend past the depot and meets westbound 301 holding the siding.

Once the meet is complete, 301 will depart for Nelson Yard.

301's crew will then start their second trick of the morning aboard 311.

The ore train has traded power and is spotted in Spruce.

It meets 312 here.

She's loaded with ore...that's gold in railroad parlance!

The tail end clears allowing 312 an exit portal out from Spruce.

Our ore train resumes its journey up to Nelson Yard where the crew there will have their cars lifted from the Fallentree Mine on their behalf.

The headend equipment tells us that we have the Pool Train in our midst.

The crew of 312 has protected the remainder of its train on the siding while 33 glides past on the main.

The passengers enjoy a relaxing ride atop the well-maintained rails of the IPP&W and the RP&M railroads!

321 holds the siding for a meet with an oncoming steam excursion train.

The local museum is running the special.

Canadian National #7427 holds the honours on this day!

Typically she would be pulling a passenger consist for the museum...

...but in gratitude to local railfans who support the museum...

...they have thrown in a lovely unit ore train to whet the whistles of the camera buffs!

Onward Ho!

Following their meet with the museum excursion, 321 gets underway out from Spruce.

The crew descends Clarke's Grade to the west of Spruce.

With Glen Hammond within reach, the crew will terminate their job and their train running day will have been completed.

321 takes the outer track that will steer them clear of Nelson Yard.

It will direct them into Glen Hammond.

A colourful consist.

321 heading for home!

Navigating the pedestrian crossing.

Through to Blockhouse.

Pat's image once again made the cover of a magazine...this time OVAR's "The Interchange".  To read the article, click on this hyperlink and then click on the blue writing that says,

Grant brought this little puppy out for display at the June OVAR meeting.
We congratulate Gilbert Lacroix who was named OVAR's McEwen Award Recipient for this OVAR season.  Gilbert's company, GLX Scale Models Inc. has helped a number of us in large scale with some of his offerings.

This shot came from Marcel.  I hope I didn't break your camera, Marcel!

Oh, oh!  I must've broken the camera...it's lost its colour!!!  Yikes!!!

Today is Fred's birthday!  Happy Birthday Fred!!!
These three photos were taken last year on his 80th!

Mark's young sons help make Fred feel like a youngster once again!

Happy eighty-oneth Fred!
You make Saturdays a ton of fun for us all!
Here's to many more!
Thanks to Pat for the amazing pics and videos and to Marcel as well.
All the best, Mike Hamer, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
