Pics From Bernie's Videos Taken From Session #5
Bernie sent me a handful of videos he snagged from our most recent session.
I have managed to grab some snipped images from the videotape.
Alas...the videos were too large to publish on Blogger.
Thanks for sending these along, Bernie!
IPP&W 311 passes the Ore Train at Mercer Siding.
Gerry was on the ball to align the switch for 311.
With the meet having "been met" the ore train proceeds easterly (geographically west).
Green indicates a clear pathway through the junction.
Gerry and Bernie pick up new train 322 at Fir Grove.
Gerry validates all cars as being correct.
George lines the crew up for their new train.
322 is underway.
RAT 61 arrives on the Orange Track at NY. 301 has already arrived on the AD track and Gerry is getting ready to check the outgoing 311 consist.
Seanna guides her train onto its prescribed routing.
The old enginehouse has seen better days.
Westbound train 311's consist has been reviewed and the crew is ready to depart.
Henk's diminutive centercab enjoys its work around the big yard!
Our RP&M train comes to a stop along the near orange track.
The crew's locomotive is rather distinctive!
301 has completed its moves at Spruce and holds the main in anticipation of the arrival of an opposing train.
The trackage around Spruce has evolved considerably in the past two seasons.
The eastbound arrives town.
Taking the passing track.
Crew meets crew!
Passing through!
Passing on by!
By and by!
Meet near complete!
Passenger 2 passes 301 that is holding in Ironwood.
The Prince Edward Island Railroad locomotive is a thing of beauty!
Yet another meeting of the minds!
Past the Windmill Spur.
Underway eastbound.
By Ironwood Brick.
The full train!
This is an interesting series of snippets from Bernie's video that illustrate how the changes at Bell are working. Chris arrives at Bell with the passenger train.
The switches are aligned, except for one, for the varnish to continue through Bell and Stuart to Fir Grove.
A lower angle view. On Track 3 and down the lead on Watkins siding is 322 switching the Bell Interchange.
Through the town of Bell. Gerry and Bernie had to wait for the passenger run to leave, but it was not a long wait.
Past the facility creatively constructed by our good friend Lawrence.
On by the depot.
Slowing for a stop.
Meanwhile, Seanna and Steve can be seen switching Stuart Yard off Track 4.
Apart for a short wait for the passengers to leave all movements were completed without interference.
The town of Stuart is handling the traffic well.
A closer examination of the RP&M train.
Earlier Chris aligned the turnout prior to departure.
The passenger service was now underway.
Nearing the massive "Brunt's Brewing" facility.
Westward ho!
Aha! The passenger train is lined up for Firgrove...meaning...
...this must be...
...Passenger #1...
...the final passenger run of the morning!
We thank Bernie for all of the images Mike was able to glean from the videos sent Mike's way.
Before I let you go, Henk sent me a short e-mail with four images attached. It read...
Hi Mike, Welcome back from your trip. I was at Fred's this morning and recorded the arrival of new items. Lawrence finished his "coal dump".
It was 80 % complete when he had to take time away from the workbench.
Lawrence has now found the strength to finish it. It will be placed in Cedar Rock at the end of the aggregates spur.
Last week I found four good looking chairs when I was railfanning in Brockville. They were free and waiting for me on the sidewalk. Take care, Henk.
Thanks to both Bernie and Henk for these great photos and captions!
Check in next week for further news from the OVGRS group of friends!
All the best, Bernie, Henk, Lawrence and the entire OVGRS clan!
