Workday Wednesday July 10th

Workday Wednesday July 10th

Bernie sent along a series of photos from Wednesday's workday session our way.

I appreciate Bernie snapping the images as I was unable to attend due to my second Shingrix vaccination having taken place the day before and I was "under the weather" for a day or so following the shot

Indeed, it is fun to follow the progress of our dedicated work crew.

Bernie tells us that Henk and Doug showed up early. There was only a very light rain falling at the time.

Bill arrived a short time later with the new engine shed for Nelson Yard.

Bill and Doug have done a very nice job on the structure.

Of course, the roof is openable for easy access to the locomotive to be stored inside on a single track.

We note the interior roof bracing.

The hinged doors are most attractive.

Their role for the morning was to complete the roof.

Bill and Doug cut out the roof covering.

Henk and Fred went inside to collect the BBQ monies.

Doug then applied and spread the contact adhesive to the roof and covering.

Indeed, it is important to apply the adhesive to both the roof and the roof covering for best adhesion.

The lads take great care to line up the roofing material before setting it down in place.

Great job fellas!

Henk looks on from in back as Bill gives us a wave and a cheer!
Again, we thank Chris for 3D printing and painting the lovely windows which adorn the sides of the engine house.

The shed is quite heavy and Bill had to hand it over to Doug.

Unfortunately, the doors do not quite clear the track.

Doug has a solution by using a lower profile track.

Lovely efforts all around boys!
Thanks to Bernie for sending along the pics for us to enjoy.
Our weather forecast for the Saturday is looking really good so everyone in the group will be able to see firsthand what the lads accomplished.
We are the WDWD crew of the OVGRS in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
