Amazing B&O Passenger Train For Sale
A friend of Sid's named Richard has sold off most of his large scale equipment over the past little while. He has one remaining item left to sell, but it's a big one...a rather "collectable" group of models!
It is the full USATrains Baltimore and Ohio passenger set. Sid and Richard asked if I could post his train to the site for anyone who might be interested in it to see. I'm simply doing this as a favour with no monetary rewards...just as Barry has done for Dale with his equipment in Belleville.
Remember, you can click on the images to enlarge them and click outside to return.
In total, Richard has four locomotives...two PA's and two B Units ...or...simply known as PA1/2 and B's plus 13 passenger cars...all individually numbered and lettered.
These models may very well fall under the description of "museum quality" although they would easily handle the rigours of train running and train operations...looking great sweeping around curves of 20' diameter or more.
The train pictured on Richard's elevated layout made of oak contains three of the powered units and six passenger cars. Here is the first A-unit.
We catch the B-unit.
Then the next A-unit.
Next up, a baggage car.
Then a dome car.
A lovely livery.
Another dome.
The observation car.
Another view of the observation car.
The observation car in different lighting.
The rest of the cars (seven more) are in their boxes including this second motorized B-unit.
The B&O had some beautifully named passenger trains.
The Ambassador was one.
The Capitol Limited was another.
The Shenandoah.
The Washingtonian.
The Columbian.
The West Virginian...to name a few more.
Here are all of the boxes to go with the set.
Richard says that he also has two Bridgewerks transformers, a 10 amp and a 20 amp. The 20 amp transformer has a remote attachment although he says he has never used the feature. In total, there are four locomotives and 13 passenger cars. Richard tells me that this set is no longer available.
If you are interested, send me an e-mail at cw580@ncf.ca and I'll pass you along to Richard.
Hope this helps!
