Weekend At Barry's

Weekend At Barry's

We thank Bonnie for snapping all of these images from the August visit to Barry's in Belleville.

Image #1 Shows what people would see just after entering the railroad through the gate into the backyard.  Hayes Fuels is on the right, and Kamaron City further down.  As you can see, we had a gorgeous day for the event.
(Click on each image to enlarge and outside to return to the regular look of the page.)

Image #2 finds Roadmaster Barry doing the pre-op briefing, noting the rules about tank cars' positioning, and reminding everyone the having fun was rule #1

Image #3 has captured Sid and Jean, doing their first ever operating session.  They had some fun solving facing point challenges, including those at Kamaron City.  They brought a lot of enthusiasm and good nature to the event.

Image #4  showcases Chuff Chuff showing Fred some of his handiwork in scratch building, with Noelle looking on.  Amazing!  And yes, they are 6 feet apart!  The whole crew were very good about following the COVID-19 protocols.

Image #5 shows everyone relaxing after a great lunch, obtained by Bonnie from Mary Brown's Fried Chicken or Metro's sandwhiches, as ordered by each person.

Image #6 demonstrates how dry the summer was but with a few rainy in this new month things look quite different.  Today (Sept 5th) the lawn is a lush green, everywhere!  We spot Mr Chuff Chuff, himself, with Mount Kamaron's waterfall in the background.

Image #7 catches someone caught snoozing!

Image #8 profiles Bonnie's Zinnias, grown from seeds taken from last year's crop, with Belleville in the background.

Image #9 follows Bernie as he enjoys the shade as he works Cumberland yard.  That red umbrella has some interesting aerodynamics, as it cleared the willow tree and landed in the neighbour's yard a week before, when a "wind surge" passed through.

We thank Barry for the narrative and Bonnie for the pictures!
Here's to next year in Belleville!
All the best, Mike Hamer, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
