Third View From Belleville

A Third View From Belleville

It's time to check out the remaining images and videos from our Belleville trip.

You will recall that we ran trains in the morning only - and then the skies opened up.

That's okay because we typically run in the morning only at Fred's each Saturday.

Barry is dressed for the season with shorts and a sweater up top.

We spot cars sitting on the sidings near the bypass area.

Lovely plants dot the landscape such as this sedum about to turn pink as it does as the weather cools.

We take another glance at Ottawa as a westbound train is about to get underway.

Here's a car of interesting loads!

A view of the crew uncoupling working the yard in Cumberland.

Three lovely examples of rolling stock rest nearby.

This lad is far from home!

More views of the work of one of the first trains out.

I believe this may be Train 602 taking the bypass routing.

The crew aboard Train 401 have finished their chores in Cumberland and are ready to head to their next destination as Barry is all smiles seeing the railroad running so beautifully - as per his designs.

Video views of the two trains.

Train 403 scampers across the pedestrian crossing near the front gate to the back yard.

The Rio Grande caboose adds a wonderful splash of colour to the train.

The crew arrives Trista Center.

401 is captured in this video effort.

We spot a train working the grain elevator siding as 401 takes to the curve.

401's departure out from Belleville is captured by railfan Mike!

Off they go!

Continued video around Trista Center.

Noelle snaps a picture of me snapping a picture of her!

Ed & Diane arrived the scene with something special 'up top' which you have seen 'in motion' in our earlier blog entries.

Moe must be in the house as we spot his drone videotaping the activities in Barry's and Bonnie's backyard.

Cars abound in the various yards including these specimens in Kamarron City.

A lovely lemon yellow & grey example!

We look down the length of the yard from the east to the west.

Barry's granddaughter is intrigued by the tiny T-scale rail specimens as Doug & Pat look on.

Diane, Noelle & Pat watch as the tiny train is re-railed on the hat.

I was able to squat down in some pain with my bad back (now healed) to capture images of this train working the grain elevator in Trista Center.

That's one long string of colourful cars.

We spot the elevator off in the distance that our good Ottawa friend, Chris, made for Barry.

Ethan heads off to the east with his train.

Hayes Fuels is spotted in the distance.

More video efforts around the big horseshoe curve located at Trista Center.

Wow!  What a lovely Conrail unit!

The train is guided beneath the signal tower.
This would be Train 402 with a crew made up of Jeff & Chris.

The crew of 402 are captured in action in this video review.

They are about to enter the tunnel beneath the waterfall.

Jeff & Chris follow their train.

In this video I inadvertently refer to Chris as Grant.
Barry tells me that Chris has been a valuable assistant to him throughout this summer.
Great appreciated by all, Chris!

Ethan is found near the fence line.

Here was where I previously showcased where CP met CP.

A lovely shot in the bypass neighbourhood.

Grant reaches in to ensure the train is properly coupled.

Continued video in the region.

We have an aerial view of Grant & John working their train near Hayes Fuels.

I spin around from the deck up top to catch Bonnie and some of the lads as we believe the first sprinkling of rain is upon us.

Aerial video views.

Here is an earlier shot of Ethan as the crew run by the ladies leans into the curve at Trista Center.

Another shot of Pat's newest diesel acquisition.

Here's Gerry of the Berrigan clan!

There's Ethan's power on the day.

Yes...another look at this Conrail beauty.

Crews abound on this wonderfully designed layout.

Barry can have numerous trains running simultaneously.

Another view of the lower lounge area.

You'll recall me sharing this westbound train at Brockville with you.

Here are some more shots of the train's consist.

Moe, Fred, Doug & Pat follow the train's progress past the station.

Aha...the mid-train helper.

This westbound is obviously made up of mostly empties as there was only a single unit on the head of the train along with this single puppy two-thirds of the way back.
I managed to count over 100 cars on the train even though I had to stop my camera at 30 second intervals as that is the maximum length of a video I can post in the blog at a single time.

More video of the train's consist.

Tank cars dominate the scene here as the lads continue to observe the passage of this westbound.

Aha...the tail end.
We must be nearing the end of this blog entry!

Final video views of the train.

We only stayed about 15 or 20 minutes in Brockville, but we managed to catch three trains.
Pat begins filming this VIA runthrough.

The modern era is upon us.

Colourful...and distinctly Canadian!

Off she goes!

And...there's Gerry also filming her passage.

Final video of the entry.

Love the weathered appearance of this baggage cart.

Indeed we stand proud!

And...we are so proud of Barry for creating this masterpiece of a railroad for us to enjoy...even if it is for a single day in the year.
Barry is such an affable host and he wants all to know that they are welcome to come and run trains with him any time of the year...just contact him in advance.
Thanks to Barry & Bonnie for hosting such a large crew on this day.
We are the OVGRS of Belleville & Ottawa in the province of Ontario, Canada
