Workday Wednesday has arrived. Bernie never blows hot air but he sure knows how to use that blower when a clean-up is required.
Andrew checks out the pond with the weeds growing between the patio blocks.
Fred is noodling with something.
Aha! He's creating some new switch throws.
Love the shirt, Garry. Looks like my Fender Telecaster. Indeed, Bruce is a great songwriter, singer and showman.
My Telecaster.
Lawrence and Garry, hard at work.
Creating some new track alignments in Nelson Yard to help improve operations.
What weeds?
"They're gone now!" says Andrew.
The flame really works well!
I sneak around the bend where I inadvertently give Fred a surprise.
Those new throws Fred has fabricated sure look good.
Nice work, Fred.
Nice work...Lawrence too!
The front garden before.
The front garden afterwards. (I had to be careful not to prune too much as we still want to conceal the fact that there is something interesting behind the fence.)
The rust garden...
...still in bloom.
Bernie, Garry and Andrew...kneeling for prayer time!
In fact, the lads are generating improved clearance for trains entering Nelson Yard from the east.
"This blower is fun!" Andrew says.
Still more blowing required, but you can see the clearances are better now.
Good old Fallentree Mine.
Love the structure!
Some turnouts get handled more frequently than others and it is really easy to see how they can become loose over time.
Yup, time for a tightening.
Gee, that reminds me of the Booker T. and the MG's instrumental song, "Time Is Tight!"
I walked the railroad to check on most of the turnouts for adjustments.
Note the friendly visitor atop the bumper.
Workday Wednesdays are always fun. Time for camaraderie, time for collaboration...and time for planning...
...next Wednesday's workload! Indeed, the area below Bell requires some tidying to enable the crew to house some of the tote boxes there. (Yes, while Fred visits Barry's operation in Belleville, those of us unable to attend will still descend on the railroad for maintenance purposes.)
We'll see everyone this coming Saturday morning for our Narrow Gauge operations!
All the best, Mike Hamer. Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
