Workday Wednesday - May 17th

Workday Wednesday - May 17th

The morning dawned bright but downright chilly!

Indeed, time for the winter hat and down-filled vest.

The temperatures did little to deter the "Workday Wednesday Workaholics" though!

While our typical "Workday Wednesday" entries feature a few little surprises, we've got a big one for you here!  It was a great thrill to have Paul stop over for a visit and to assist with the railroad's readiness for the new season.  Here, Pat & Paul share a couple of great smiles!

Bernie arrives on property with the ideal tools required for the various jobs.

Weeding and grass cutting get underway.  Even though Ralph did a great job cutting the lawn areas two weeks ago, those pesky blades of grass shot right up once again!

Paul points out some low hanging branches that should be dealt with.

And away Mike goes!  Using Bernie's snippers he first addresses the lighter tributary branches.

There's a smile from little ole me!  Yes it was spanking chilly out this morning!

Now that's the required tool, Bernie!

And this handsome lad is up to the task.

Cutting the branch into smaller segments more suitable for the garbage can on recycling day.

Paul is proud of our efforts.

Fred is pleased that more parts for the pedestrian crossing have arrived but it was too cold to work on that project on this morning.

Paul heads indoors to warm up.

Some of Fred's other models.

Beauties, Fred!

Winter is over but this little lad still looks great on the shelf!

As does this model.

British anyone?

There's an IPP&W steamer for the books!

Aha, the new umbrella has arrived.

Must be a light beer!

Love the crispness of the logo and that deep blue colour.

The new song by the renowned Paul Norton goes something like this..."Sunshine keeps falling on my head!"

Hehehe!  Smiles all around from Bernie and Paul!

Oops, Bernie has discovered yet another track issue we had missed last Wednesday over at the Northland Ore Dock.

It's the Fab Four.  Now which one's John, which one's Paul, which one's George and which one's Ringo!

Well there is a Paul...from left to right...Doug, Paul, Bernie and Pat...the "other" fab four!

Doug did a great job lettering the 44-tonner for Fred.

It'll be nice seeing this little puppy running on the great outdoor layout really soon!

Looking good Doug!

And two "looking good" lads...Paul and Fred.
Psst...Fred had just woken up from a long winter's nap!  (Long story for another day!)
All the best, Mike and the OVGRS maintenance gang!
