Oliver the Conductor

Oliver the Conductor

Mark has sent along these fine images from a train running session back in August.  As Mark and I both agree...it's never too late to share pics of trains!  The story line is written by Mark and Oliver!

We start the day with a look at Grant’s wonderful WP&YR Consolidation!  What a beautiful locomotive!
(To enlarge, click on the image. To return, click outside the image.)

Here is my conductor for the day, none other than Oliver himself!

Yes, that is one FINE looking machine!

This TH&B Geep unit is so new that it hasn’t even had its stanchions and other accessories applied yet.  The railroad safety crew would have a field day… but we are only taking her out on a test drive today.  Here she is lashed up  to a mixed-goods train.

Nice long string of tank cars.  Almost classifies as a unit train!

Ollie keeping watch vigilantly… He is a good conductor.

Bernie and Lawrence, our faithful MoW crew, hard at work while Fred’s beautiful gas-electric lies waiting in the foreground, and the Bernie’s TH&B Geep creeps through the shadows approaching Spruce. (Mine is heading downhill towards the pedestrian crossing)

I am addicted to trestle shots.  No shame in admitting it.  But you can see why, right?

Ollie, the “chief” conductor (according to his cap) inspecting Paul Anderson’s train.

Rolling on through Nelson...

Where we catch Andrew hard at work spacing out the safe “physical distancing” measures with a high-tech bamboo stick method.

Ollie carefully approaching the trestle.

And the trackwork passes inspection!  Honestly, can this be nominated for BEST SHOT OF THE YEAR on the IPP&W?!

Water bottle carefully in hand… Ollie wanders over to inspect the train...

And he lets those tank cars roll on by...

But Ollie is quick to jump in at Peter’s Pond to help a derailed caboose.

And Andrew approves, of course...

And we end with a nice shot heading into Firgrove!
Thanks, Mark and Oliver, for the great pictures and stories from way back in August...the 15th to be exact!  See you later!
