Pat Brewer sent me these wonderful photographs along with the text to share his story of the lads' visit down to the Finger Lakes Live Steamers facility to mark the final day of our annual "Invasion of Friends" for 2019.
The above photograph showcases the beautiful clubhouse the group has built.
The following is Pat's e-mail to me which he sent along with the photographs. "With the rain, all of the engines were in the sheds and it was very difficult to photograph them in their cramped quarters."
"The weather was really not very good and people ended up congregating wherever there was shelter. Except for a period of light drizzle, it just rained all day. Nothing in Ottawa, of course! Ric ran his handcar and railbus (no photos of it) in the rain. Jim made three runs on the 7 1/4 gauge track and Moe and Paul Anderson where on two of them. I got in one run. The photo of the run shows a wet Jim running the train in the drizzle. It was very good of him to do it. That run is now about 15 minutes long with the new track installed over the last year."
"We did have a nice pulled pork and salads lunch. With the rain, most had packed it in by 3:00 PM and that's when we headed home."
