Workday Wednesday - July 17

It's "Workday Wednesday" before the Invasion of Friends hits this Friday.

Time for erecting things...

...like this canopy.

I'm holding on for dear life.

Looks good Bernie!

The canopy will provide shade for those who chose to sit in the mini amphitheater located at Mercer Siding.  What a great "platform" to view the action!  You'll be sure to see many a "meet" of trains in this location!

Pat and Chris are hard at work cleaning up the property.

As is...

...Gene!

Bernie is blowing off some hot air!

Lawrence checks out the pond.

The water is purposely lowered as Fred feels there is a leak somewhere higher up the side near the portal.

While there may not be many fish so far, the lily pads and flowers are in full glory.

Even though we raked this area just last week, tons more needles make an appearance.

As do the weeds.

Looking clean now!

Chris brought out his NW2 which was previously factory painted as a NYCentral unit.  Chris custom painted and lettered this gorgeous gem over the off season.

He brought the locomotive out to test its coupler height.

Looking good, Chris.  A good match!

Chris laser printed the spark arrestors at his local library.

They are removable as the hole showcases.

Fred looks over the locomotive.

Chris used his printer to customize all of the decals and lettering.

Spectacular!

Chris also fabricated the upper grab rails that run just below the Canadian National lettering.

Today was his test run!  That's what I love about Workday Wednesdays...there will be a great variety of activities going on all around the railroad.

Headlights work!

Spinning...

...on the turntable in Firgrove.

Love all of the detailing as well.

Indeed, Chris is a proud papa!

The other side of the locomotive.  Love the paint scheme!  Chris tells us that his family voted on this particular scheme after he had shown them the other option.  We were teasing Chris saying..."I'll buy it off ya!"  "What!" Chris replied.  "I haven't even had a chance to operate with it!"  Of course we won't grab it from him, but it will be a lovely addition to our standard gauge operations!

All is well along the IPP&W and the RP&M.

Yup, Uncle Fred, we's prepared for the invasion!!!
See everyone Friday morning at Fred's!
