Bernie In Belleville - Part Three

Bernie's Belleville Pics and Stories - Part Three

We continue with our overview of train operations at Barry and Bonnie Burkett's lovely garden railroad located in Belleville, Ontario as written by our good friend Bernie.

In this Part Three posting, Bernie manages to capture this perfect "trifecta" of TH&B brethren resting on a siding in  Orleans.

Bernie arrives at Orleans with THB 73 while Mark is ready to depart with THB 73! Remember when Bernie’s 414 passed Paul’s 412?  Well...414 needed some cars from 412 which was now behind him.

Marcel has switched his cars at Ottawa and is ready to depart with a new train. Bernie now patiently awaits 412 with his cars.

The road safety officer will not be too happy with two tankers next to the locomotive and caboose.

There was no room for both trains in Orleans so 414 had to bring Bernie’s cars to the terminal at Ottawa yard.

Union break.

Paul works his train in the lush garden.

Paul is ready to roll to Ottawa yard.

Three trains in the yard. Bernie will work Pauls train from the rear and depart with 417 with the missing cars.

417 passes Kamaron City while Sid is ready to climb the fence.

Bernie switches Golding Enterprises at Trista Yard.

Paul is ready to switch Hayes Fuels with 419.

417 and 419 await clearance to Shaanenville via Mount Kamaron.

Bernie has priority for real this time. Paul finds a nice shade.

Bernie’s 417 exits Mount Kamaron…

…and crosses the bridge into Shaanenville.

Paul follows Bernie with 419. The waterfalls at Mount Kamaron are fabulous.

Mark is working Quinte West.

Marcel has completed his second run and will wye his locative to back it into his carrying case.

Mark has brought out his little red critter and attempts to see how many cars it could pull. Unfortunately, things go wrong and two cars tumble to the ground including Ronald McDonald.

Johnny Chuff Chuff comes to the rescue of fellow clown Ronald McDonald.

Paul has safely parked his CP locomotive into its carrying case as Marcel awaits his turn.

The residents of Cora’s Corners are not too happy with that big UP SD-60 burbling away.

Unfortunately, this beautiful Rio Grande locomotive did not get used today.

Marcel is seen closing up his UP loco in its carrying case much to the relieve of the Cora’s Corner’s residents.

Three TH&Bs geeps parked in Orleans.

GP7 owners Mark and Bernie!

THB GP7 73, its twin brother THB 73, and younger brother GP9 402.

A terrific trio, for sure!

One more parting shot.

Yet another amazing scenic garden shot!

We love the gardens...we love the railroad...

...and...most of all...we love our railroad friends!
After a hard days work, Bonnie passes out a refreshing, cool reward of popsicles.

Thank you so much, Bernie, for these great pictures and creative captions.

All the best, Mike Hamer, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
