Pics From Pat

Pics From Pat

Pat sent along some fabulous pics from our Saturday visit to Fred's place.  We catch Paul undertaking some maintenance work on the cables for some turnouts.

Indeed, whenever we spot an issue along the line we work it out and ameliorate the problem pronto!  That's Pats pool train snaking its way through the wye in Craig Leigh out from the Northland Ore Dock.

History is recreated each Saturday morning as we run trains that haven't been seen in a many a year!

Here's Pat all masked up and ready to take on the world in these crazy times!

Pat managed to capture a meet of three trains at Mount St. Helens.

The upper two drags are located in the eastern sector of the railroad while the train traversing the rail head below is on the western front.

Bernie is a lad who is "made in the shade!"  Gee, come to think of it...maybe he was...wink, wink, nudge, nudge, nudge!

The noise must be deafening for railfans as this behemoth takes on the uphill climb out from Wellington Lake.

The word is out that trains will be departing from Firgrove on this day so railfans race to the western terminus of the railroad to catch the action.

Our pool train passes Blockhouse with lading shared by both railroads.

In an earlier shot from the morning...

...the train is found passing the checkered water tower between Spruce and Blockhouse.

Unit trains are a favourite of this railfan and our unit ore train is spotted departing Spruce.

Marcel commandeers the ore train on this day.

The Pool Train has reached the depths in "The Corners" and peeks out into daylight just east of Wellington Lake.

We just miss catching the meet of the ore train with the pool train in Peter's Pond.

Another local departs the yard at Firgrove as Pat is occupied turning the various cars on his passenger train.

Aha!  We have a "masked bandit" located outside the engine house in Craig Leigh.

Yes, our dispatchers take great pride in "physical distancing" as all trains along the route of the IPP&W and the RP&M!

When I shared the images of my family yesterday Pat recalled meeting my daughter, Alison, at a Veteran's Affairs ceremony his father and he attended.  Alison was working for Veteran's Affairs at the time and she was the organizer of the event.  I remember her telling me how much she was honoured to meet Pat and his dad that day.

This picture showcases Pat's father with the Minister of Veteran's Affairs taken back in 2011.

Pat, I never met your dad, but judging by your fine character I am sure he was the most amazing father a person could wish to have!
