Bernie's Saturday Pics

Bernie's Pics From Another Great Saturday

We thank Bernie for sending along these great looking photos of the group from this past Saturday.

Bernie has found three hobos hanging around the engine house in Craig Leigh.  From left to right, they are Larry, Curly and Moe...err...I mean, Mike (me), Pat and Sid.

We've seen this gorgeous creature numerous times over the past week or so!

Pat has brought out the full consist from his personl stable of cars.

I get down low to shoot some video footage from a true railfan's perspective.

We are all dressed for action on this cool Ottawa morning.

Folks hang around the crew lounge table.

Moe climbs aboard his train.  Pat has left his yellow CP van in the yard due to differences in coupler styles.

Bernie finds me railfanning in the east end.

Moe is underway!

Fred and Sid enjoy friendship and sunshine.  In fact, everyone felt warm and cozy in their multi-layered garb.

Moe arrives Peter's Pond to find Pat descending the Cedar Rock Branch.

A trifecta of spans!

A different angle of attack from my previous photos of Doug's handiwork with the stock car now numbered IPP&W 946.

Pat in Rat!  Actually his train is spotted on the lower level beneath Firgrove to the left.

In Nelson Yard.

Engineer Moe is "on the go" through the big yard.

Little old me lies down for a cool angle shot of a train traversing the Patrick Brennan Bridge.

Mr. Moe.

Mr. Doug.

Pat and Railfan Mike.

In Spruce with no snow to show!

Pat tucks his locomotive into its carrying case at the end of the session.

Pat grabs some stones for his backyard...

...from Peter's Pond in Fred's backyard.

Bill "Sn3" Scobie sent me an e-mail wondering if we re-rail our garden equipment in the same manner as this little puppy was re-railed!

Bill and I know that this true-to-life "service interruption" was not rectified in a few seconds or even in a mere minute or two.

Yup, locomotive 484 found itself in this predicament over 20 years ago.

Looks like the "big hook" was required!

Bill sent along the video link for those who wish to watch the endeavour.

Thank you to Bernie for sending along these great pics from this past Saturday...and thank you to Bill for sending along the video link of the re-railing of engine number 484.

All the best, Mike Hamer, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
