Peter's Pond Party aka "The Big Fill"

 Peter's Pond Party

aka The Big Fill

A Work and Play Day!

With cooler temperatures accompanying a sunny day...

...some of the lads made it out to Fred's...

...to run a few trains...

...of great variety...

...such as these fine examples...

...of trains brought in by Pat and Lawrence.

Pat shared this image of what appears to be a busy looking Nelson Yard for these Covid times.

Pat captured Bernie hard at work filling in the pond.
Thanks, Pat, for the great pics...plus one more that closes out this blog entry later on.

The rest of the images other than Pat's final one come from Bernie.  These new pink chairs have been donated to the cause courtesy of Henk!  Thank you, Henk...greatly appreciated by the lads and lasses!

Our "home" diesel locomotive.

Mark's Climax engine.

A pile of fill for Peter's Pond.

Nelson Yard.

"Smile Pat," Bernie says.

Mark gets in on the action...

...tipping a wheel barrow full of fill into the vast opening.

Then it's Pat's turn...

...to do the same.

Is that another big stone Pat has found?

Lawrence oversees the activities.

Then he lends a hand with Pat.

Lawrence and Fred...

...in the crew lounge sans canopy.

As Bernie tells us, it was an interesting variety of trains found out and about today.

They congregate in Spruce.

Pat's train is to the left...

...while Mark's is found on the right.

Love the "big hook" Mark!

This final picture was sent by Pat showcasing the amount of fill that was deposited in the vacant pond area.

Thanks to Pat and Bernie for the great looking pics from this week's activities.  Also thanks to all those who have helped out with the canopy and the pond this week!
All the best, Mike Hamer, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
