Session #17 From Bernie's Point of View
While there are only a half dozen images in this blog entry, they certainly offer up some interesting tales from the session!
The captions are in the words of Bernie!
Thanks for sending these along our way, Bernie!
This is
what greeted us on Saturday morning. Mount St. Helens and Firgrove get it
worst.
To enlarge images...click on them.
To shrink images...click outside them.
The Connies are quite wide and Bernie’s Conny
hit the station during the run-around. The road superintendent in his car had a
good view of the roll over.
And we thought the pine needle "blower" actually blew the station out of alignment! Big grin!
Another derailment as Pat re-rails Steve’s
locomotive at Spruce.
Steve’s locomotive also split the switch at Ironwood.
Although the derailment in the previous photo
looks quite benign, it was actually quite a hit, so much so that the fireman
was thrown from the locomotive.
The Nelson yard switcher moving the caboose onto
a new train. Bernie’s loco has backed onto 311 and is ready to depart for
Peter’s Pond.
Bernie tells us that Bill and Grant attended to another derailment at Watkins...not pictured!
In order
to get Gerry in the photo, I asked Mike to move back. Mike did as told and Marcel
followed suit. Hence the two leaning towers.
It's always fun to look at images from our session...even if they only make up a small handful...they are greatly appreciated. Thanks once more Bernie!
All the best, Mike, Bernie, Fred and our many OVGRS colleagues!
