Pat's Pics and Captions From Session #18

Pat's Review of Session #18

Thanks to Pat for sending these images from our final session of the season.

The captions also belong to Pat, one of our other resident authors!

Great job, Pat!

Train 303 has left Glen Hammond on the way through the junction heading to "L'étang de Pierre" ... sorry I've been in Quebec too long ... Peter's Pond.

After our switching at Peter's Pond we head up to Bell meeting another crew 'en route' to Wellington Lake. My trusty partner Moe is reaching into his bag of tricks for chips, and not magic beans.

Another view of the passing locomotive and a very red flat car.

We pull into Firgrove and meet George who has prepared our next train - 314.

As we finish with Bell switching, we head back down through Watkins and pass Wellington Lake as we have no work there. I took different shots of this scene.

Next three shots are of the same area. Nice cars in Ironwood Brick, including the ore cars.

I took different shots of this scene.

A scene of switching at Cedar Rock with Moe's magic chips on the rolling stock.

A handsome photographer is captured...capturing our switching!

314 has arrived Nelson yard and we see some beautiful Northland Railroad A and B units preparing to supply us with our next train - 324.

Someone tall is standing on the B unit to take a picture of the caboose being pushed back towards the newly born train 324.

Thanks to the Nelson yard crew for getting our train ready. I hope I did not get too close to the yard. The rules are clear: stay out unless you are switching Blockhouse!

Train 324 rounds the bend out of Nelson yard and passes by Fallentree mine.

We head to Ironwood after our switching at Spruce.

Colourful cars pull up the rear!

Heading up to Craig Leigh after switching St-Helens.

Doug was the friendly yardmaster at Craig Leigh on this final day of operations for the season.  He asked me to pull the cars from one of the station tracks so he wouldn't have to carry the tray as far.  Big grin!

Bernie puts a tray of cars away for the winter. Sad when the season ends. Here's to a great 2023!

Thanks, Pat, for these great looking images from our final session of the season.

There will be more to come in a later entry!

All the best, Pat, Mike and the entire crew!  Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
