A Visit Out To George's Place With Len
Hi gang. Len has sent along this handful of great looking images from this past Sunday taken at George's property.
In them you will be able to follow the developments of this expanding railroad.
I was not able to open the text information for the pics, so the captions come from my observations of the images only.
We spot a veritable yard with wonderful structures standing in place.
A view from the other end showcases a lovely gas station at this end of the yard with the main line trailing off in a meandering fashion in the distance.
A view down the yard. At this point in time, the railroad is an "out and back" example of the great amount of fun that can be had in this great hobby of ours.
Len and George...this is the perfect height for me!
A gorgeous "through truss" bridge spans the opening beautifully where the railroad enters the garage.
An "artsy" shot taken from inside the garage of a returning passenger train.
A long haul freight works its way down the line on a sunny Sunday morning!
Len's CP road switcher holds the honours on this day as the train is about to cross the deck girder bridge.
Station stop at the end of the line. Now...about turning that fine-looking steamer? Big smile!
Thanks, Len, for sharing these awesome photographs from your recent gathering out at George's!
I'm imagining a concept...how about creating a single "passing siding" halfway out to allow two opposing trains to meet? Just a thought for operations! (You probably have something like this in your plans anyway!)
All the best, Mike and the gang at the OVGRS
