Session #16 Submissions From Dilip

Dilip's Submissions From Session #16

We thank Dilip for his wonderful photos from today's session.

We particularly enjoy his ability to capture a number of members in "pairs" deep in discussion.

The first image from ground level starts us off beautifully!

We begin with this wonderful "ground level" shot of our depot at Spruce waiting patiently for a passenger train to make an appearance.

Dilip found Doug and me outside the dispatcher's hut.  While Doug is in bare feet and sandals, Mike is in scarf and mitts!
(I think I need to move to Florida to find some warmth...ooops...better not this week though!)
(We are thinking of all our American and Canadian friends in Florida at this time.)

Bill and Grant are found pouting over the fact that everyone else ate those amazing cupcakes Steve brought out and they were all gone by the time they got to the table!  Just kiddin' fellas.
(Steve, please thank Judy for the great tasting treats...and, yes,  everyone had the opportunity to have a taste!)

Speaking of Steve, here he is with our chief chef, but not bottle washer...Moe!

Marcel and Garry find things to talk about over by the side porch leading into Fred's home.

Neil has arrived with ball caps showcasing our OVGRS logo.  Looks like Pat has purchased one.

Dilip managed to snap an image of me snapping an image of him while Fred entertains the crowd in behind.

Pat checks back to find Dilip's lens as the rest of the crew listen in on the discussions.

A tandem of tracks hold a number of cars at the Fallentree Mine adjacent to Nelson Yard.

A low angle view of Nelson Yard showcases some trains with end cars already in place.

Marcel and Dilip have reached Peter's Pond and have protected their train in advance of the arrival of Passenger 32 which we see departing "The Pond" bound for Glen Hammond.

Garry and Grant have 302 switching out Wellington Lake using the runaround track at Watkins Siding (to the left) while Moe and Pat have arrived Ironwood aboard 301 where 304 is spotted on the newly installed track which offers the ability of two crews to work Ironwood simultaneously.

Aha...we need to have the depot brought out at Spruce...

...or Dilip would never be able to snap this cool image previously showcased.

Steve and Peter run by the depot with the easterly run of the ore train.

Passenger 32 has already passed the Spruce station and comes to a stop at the recently moved Ironwood depot on the curve.

Our Nelson Yardmaster tandem find some respite from the action.  Doug and Bill bask in the sunshine.  Indeed...two people are required to run the big yard in Nelson.

Wow!  Dilip has managed to capture quite the grouping of operators down in Ironwood in this spectacular image.  In a game of "Where's Waldo" can you spot the four trains in the photo?  Hint:  three are in Ironwood and one is found in Spruce.  Pat and Moe have already arrived with 301 while Doug and Gerry have brought 304 in on the track to the right.  Off in the distance we find Passenger 32 drifting off to St. Helens on the main while to the extreme left we spot Peter with the ore Train over in Spruce with his engineer Steve holding the throttle mid picture.

Another lovely "tandem shot" of our other Steve and Seanna  with their RP&M Train 61 up in Bell.  The yellow transfer caboose tells me Marcel (out of the picture) is nearby as his train (303) departs westward towards Firgrove with crew mate Dilip (behind the camera lens).

Len handles the consist of 303.  The train crew will turn their locomotive and proceed back to Bell on their new train, 314, which Len has already set up for them.  Len will ensure they have a caboose on their tail end before they depart Firgrove.

A look from the other end of Firgrove near the turntable

We finish off this entry with this shot of the Fred Mills Trestle which rises high above Brennan Gap.
Thanks once again, Dilip, for allowing me to get a great looking blog entry out really early this week!
Thanks to Friar Fred who is always the most gracious of hosts!
All the best, Mike and the OVGRS troupe, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
