Bernie's Views From Saturday

This Past Saturday as Viewed From the Lens of Bernie

Thanks to Bernie for sending along some fine-looking images from the day on Saturday.

Garry and Paul are hanging out over by the wye in Craig Leigh.

We wonder "why" they are hanging out by the "wye"?

Fred wanders over to check in on this meeting.

Aha!  Bernie tells me that Garry had brought out four locomotive horns he was given by an ex-railroader.

In order to test the horns, the group had to access the battery on Fred's tractor.

The four lads are busy testing out the horns.  I missed out on the action as I arrived a little bit later.

Bernie managed to snag this fine image of Paul's locomotive.  This engine was showcased in some of the videos from an earlier posting.

There's Mr. Pat with his steamer.

She's raring and ready to roll as well.

Two steam locomotives occupy Craig Leigh at the moment.

Paul's steamer occupies the Northland Ore dock along with the cars for Pat's train seen on the far track...

...including this fine specimen...

...and this lovely car in billboard style colours.

Paul idles...

...as Pat backs onto his train.

The Northland Ore dock makes due as a great yard as Douglas Yard is closed down for the time being.

Pat and Paul confer as Marcel prepares his diesel locomotive off in the distance.

Paul holds his loco on a yard track as Pat finishes up his classifying...

...using the wye as a yard lead.

An overall view of the Northland Ore Dock.

We have a railfan in our midst...

...checking out the action.

Why...it's Mr. Hamer, the newly retired school teacher!

With Pat's freight train having cleared Northland, Paul gets to work on his passenger consist.

Today he will run both consists as a combined train.

While across the way, Bernie spots the stainless steel shimmering in the morning light.

Paul prepares his train...

...while railfan, Mike, shoots away!

Bernie manages this fine shot of Marcel's  CN E-unit hauling the silver beauties.

Just in case you missed this short video clip of Marcel's latest acquisition (seeing as I posted it much later in the previous posting) check out his new CN E unit along with the five passenger cars he managed to pick up from our good friend, Paul Norton.

I also share with you once again this fine image of Marcels newly acquired passenger train he took at his Ottawa home.  She'll look marvelous plying the rails down in Arizona, Marcel!

I share this image of Bernie, the masked maintenance of way worker.  Along with Lawrence and a handful of others he works diligently to keep the railroad well maintained and in fine working order.  We thank Bernie for all of these photos in this posting.

Have a great train day everybody and remember to stay safe! Mike Hamer, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
