Night Visit to the Patrick and Perimeter Line

Night Running
Mark snapped a few images at home to share with us.  The following story is in his own words.

Here is a short but interesting selection of a run I did on my home layout, the Patrick and Perimeter Line. It was on Sunday evening (October 18) so you see as the evening light fades how interesting the view becomes.

Fred recently converted 5 flat/log cars for me with Kadee couplers and metal wheels. I wanted to test them out on my home railway. I have been negligent with maintenance-of-way as you can see - the far siding in the yard is completely overgrown! The trusty Climax lacks a cowcatcher, but at this speed, she will make short work of that fallen leaf on the rails...

We do a test delivery to the mine. Love that rear backup light on the Climax.

We are hooked back up to our caboose and continue to roll down the main.

Most of the time we railfans capture images head on, or from the side, but this is a nice change - a view from the rear, caboose-style!

And back to our usual front view - that is a very colourful consist!

The sun has set, and Marianna and Ollie look on as the Climax’s powerful headlight pierces the dark evening air.
Thanks, Mark, for allowing us to visit the Patrick and Perimeter line once again!
All the best, Mike Hamer, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
