Pat's Pics and Vids From Saturday

Views of Saturday From the Eyes of Pat

We thank Pat so much for dropping off his computer stick containing these awesome pictures and videos from this past Saturday's train running session in the middle of October.

In this image clipped from one of Pat's videos, we find Mark and Olie bringing their Ontario Northland Train up the grade at Lilly bound for Nelson Yard while Lawrence works on test fitting the newly built trestle at Brennan's Gap.

The fallen leaves tell us the winds of change are a-comin'!

The video above follows this ON train upgrade and around the bend.

This long view shows us the industry spurs that have been cut off from the railroad as a result of the bridge reconstruction.

Wow!  You've gotta love the symmetry the bents offer in this 3/4 angle view of this impressive structure.

Lawrence, you are a true bridge builder!  Simply incredible.

Fred, along with all of us, is appreciative of Lawrence's efforts.

Outstanding work!

Not only a bridge builder, but a stone mason he is!

Thanks, again, Lawrence for all you do for us!

Earlier in the day, Pat caught Bernie snapping pics in Craig Leigh of Pat's train departing this eastern terminus of the railroad.

Paul's locomotive rests on the Northland Ore Dock...

...awaiting his chance to build his train.

Pat managed to find me hanging out around Nelson Yard.

A nice low-angle shot at Bell captures a lone freight car in the distance.

She's a lovely looking specimen!

We check out the western terminus of the railroad...Firgrove.
Pat's train has just arrived the area.

Ralph Yard is typically populated with a great amount of traffic...but not in these strange times.

The engine house in Firgrove.

Mark and Ollie look on as Pat arrives Firgrove as a caboose hop.

"All the leaves are brown!" as The Mamas and Papas sang.

A lovely low-angle shot of Pat's train.

Arriving Firgrove.

She's beautiful Pat!

Taking a spin
on the turntable.

Now facing eastbound with a long journey ahead!

Departing Firgrove for Bell.

A
meet between Pat's and Mark & Olie's trains in Bell.

Standing in Bell, note Pat's silhouette as he snaps a photo of maintenance of way worker, Lawrence, off in the distance.

Pat has but a small amount of work to do here.

He will lift that freight car we admired a short while ago.

His train grows by one...

...and then departs Bell toward Wellington Lake.

We catch
Mark and Olie's train off in the distance about to enter "The Corners".

Then we discover
Pat's train travelling on into Peter's Pond.

Here's a fun shot of our photographer and videographer, Mr. Pat Brennan!

Say, we are enjoying a veritable "harvest" of postings with images and videos sent in by others.  So-o-o, how about giving a listen to my band's version of Neil Young's classic tune "Harvest Moon".  While I am not really playing much lead guitar on my acoustic in this tune, I get to have fun with harmonics and interesting "up the neck" chording.  My teacher colleague, Chris, does a great solo on his keyboard synthesizer near the end of the tune.  Check it out below!

All the best, Mike Hamer, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
