Andrew, Mark, Moe, Mike & Doug Having Fun

Fun With the Boys!

Once some of the work was complete...

...it was time...

...to have a bit of fun.

Andrew has Mark's attention...

...and Olie's attention too!

Andrew demonstrates...

...how he has wired...

...his locomotive.

Very neatly done Andrew!

Time to take her for a spin!

Leaving the engine house area.

She's a real looker!

Lovely colour scheme...

...and gorgeous lines.

Heading out onto the wye.

Then, it's time to reverse...

...and back into the excess track...

...located on the other side...

...of the engine house.

Thanks, Andrew, for bringing this beautiful locomotive out for us to enjoy!

Mark also got in on the fun...

...bringing out this "black beauty"...

...for us to enjoy.

It's a climax.

On the Northland Ore Dock.

Low angle view.

Ready to rumble.

Neil looks on...

...as Mark clears the track...

...before heading out...

...onto the wye...

...with a goal of heading to...

...Mount St. Helens downgrade from Craig Leigh.

Moe had been have an overheating problem...

...with his CN diesel...

...but she ran okay today!

As for me...between getting out to Fred's I've been kept busy working on the machine shop build in O-Scale for my good friend and fellow dispatcher, Doug!  Feel free to click on the image to blow it up.

Doug asked me to complete the machines after he had built a couple.  This was a great challenge as each machine is made up of tons of mini detail parts.  I'm glad it was O-Scale and not HO!

Doug had sent me a bare platform built to the scale required for the machines.

I spent today adding a stone foundation and a wooden floor.
(The second and third pictures above appear yellowish as I had my incandescent light turned on at the time.)

I've just placed the machines momentarily in their places, some with a little piece of masking tape below to hold it up...thus the slight crooked appearance of a couple of them.  The next step will be the wall sections.

My fellow dispatcher, Doug, created this beautiful station on his outdoor layout using Jigstones wall sections from the UK.

Doug also created the post office in Craig Leigh using the same materials from Jigstones.  Doug tells us that the company has recently turned 30 years old.  In celebration, they put out a video which showcases the company's product as well as structures created by costumers around the world.  Doug's two buildings are showcased in the video!  Check it out at the link below!

Thanks for checking in on the great fun we enjoy at Fred's each day!
All the best, Mike Hamer, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
