Mike's IPP&W/RP&M Run Aboard CN RS3 7831

Mike's Canadian National Road Switcher Gets a Workout

I brought out my CN RS3 to run this past Saturday.

I purchased this fine looking unit from dispatcher Doug a few years back.

Bill Sn3 Scobie had custom painted it using the correct decals for the job.

As far as I can tell, this is the only prototypical version of this livery in large scale.

A run of these units had come out but the individual who sold them used the wrong sized decal set for the entire run.

Thanks, Bill, for doing such a great job on the unit.

Thanks to Chris for weathering her so realistically.

"Hi" to Chris and Lela down in Nova Scotia!

I snagged this fun image of Grant following the progress of his passenger train.

Rounding the curve into Glenn Hammond.

The Glenn is a quiet looking locale on this day!

Grant is enjoying himself.

A lovely shot of his train...

...high above the gut.

Train extra 7831 crosses the junction.

It is right hand running through Mercer Siding.

On into Peter's Pond.

The Delaware and Hudson offers up a lovely looking boxcar.

Bernie and Andrew share stories.

I tiptoe through the grade crossing to the west of Peter's Pond.

I am below Mount St. Helens...

...while Moe approaches from above.

Fred is hard at work in Spruce.

I find Watkins Siding in no time.

While Grant reaches Ironwood.

I had been there earlier.

Through Bell.

Reaching Pratt's Bottom.

In the shelter...

...beneath Firgrove.

Heading outdoors to the front lawn.

Rat Portage is also quiet on this day.

Holding the junction along RP&M rails.

Later we discover the rockery outside of Blockhouse in the shadows of the Fallentree Mine.

Upon reaching Spruce, Fred asked me to enter the sidings.

Backing into the center one.

Marcel has offered sufficient clearance.

Fred observes the progress of the train.

The bell is ringing  as the train is backing through the turnouts.

Looking good!

Nice job, Fred!

Brilliant.

An earlier scene through the trestle.

A great railfan spot.

Meanwhile, Bernie has reached Ironwood.

Love that TH&B locomotive, Bernie!

A meet...

...and greet.

The handsome Bernie man!

It's upgrade...

...into Mount St. Helens.

Bernie tests out the new spur tracks "engine first" to allow Grant passage through Spruce.

My train will terminate shortly...

...and my locomotive will reach the Hamer engine house for a recharge!  Thanks for following along on the run!
Have a great day!  Mike Hamer, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
