Mark's First True "Operating Session" on P&P Line

Mark's First True "Ops Session" on the Patrick and Perimeter Line

"In the spirit of sharing railroad updates," Mark tells us, he has sent along some great pics from his first true operating session on his home railroad.

The railroad is called the Patrick and Perimeter Line.

Indeed, Mark goes on to say,  "I felt confident enough in my track work and switches to test them out through the rigours of an ops session."

Mark's son, Matthew, joined in on the fun.

Here he is with that lovely looking TH&B Geep!

"We lashed up a mixed passenger-goods train in the yard, did a few pick up and drop offs at the (as yet unnamed and lacking buildings) industrial siding, and swapped out a car at the lumber mill and serviced the Patrick station with the passenger cars."

Matthew is in total control of things!

That mixed goods train is beautiful.

"Matthew also had the bright idea of serving as a “human tunnel” just to add some operating interest."

The natural landscape offers up a great looking setting for the railroad.

More tunnel fun.

Mark finishes up his account by adding, "And to our Friends south of the border whom we would have seen this week for the Invasion:  Best of health and well-wishes!  Stay Safe!"  Indeed, this would have been the up-coming "Invasion of Friends Weekend.  We will miss seeing all of our friends from south of the border and from other regions in Canada.
Thanks, Mark, for the wonderful story of your first ops session with Matthew!
All the best, Mike Hamer, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

  1. It looks as though Mark has enough real estate for a modest ride-on railroad. That's what I'd be considering! At any rate, he must bring those kiddies down to Finger Lakes one of these days so they can ride around on some slightly larger toy trains!!!!
