Saturday's Train Running Fun

Train Running on a July Saturday Morning

We continue where we left off from our previous posting with a nice photograph of Grant's mogul.

Along with this lovely image of the entire passenger train.

Which includes a lovely green-coloured addition.

The baggage car Fred was gifted from a wonderful gentleman in Oregon.

One last gander...

...at the consist...

...of Grant's passenger train.

Here's Grant!

Moments earlier, his train attacked the grade out of Mount St. Helens.

Bernie brought out his Toronto, Hamilton & Buffalo RR Geep.

First generation meets a later one.

A fine looking meet!

Lawrence (hiding behind a pole) watches Bernie enjoy his train running experience.

He's eastbound through Spruce.

Into Ironwood...

...where Bernie meets this little critter.

Aha!  Of course...it's Andrew!

Another great looking meet.

In the dappled shade.

On approach to Craig Leigh.

The turnouts are set.

Through Northland.

Entering Douglas Yard.

Coming to a stop.

An earlier view of Bernie's train, this time heading westbound.

Andrew's small locomotive...

...is a big hauler!

Meeting Bernie's train in Ironwood.

Meeting Marcel in Spruce.

He has no fear in the shadows of this armour yellow behemoth!

Hey, there's Doug!

Let's see what he has brought out.

A Canadian Pacific geep.

Love that paint scheme, Doug!

Bernie loves it too!

Hi Moe!

Hi Pat, too!

Moe continues to "test run" his CN diesel with the lid off.

Two CN trains meet as I bring my consist into Nelson Yard and Moe awaits the switch.

Some earlier shots of his train...this time "above" my train.

It's the "race track" in "the corners."

Moe enjoys the shade...

...along with Lawrence.

Our two trains are still in a race...

...with Moe in Ironwood...

...and my train at Wellington Lake.

At another time in the morning our two trains had met in Ironwood.

I decided to bring out the RS3 on this day.
Grant is off in the distance as I depart Craig Leigh.

Into Mount St. Helens.

The dappled shade...

...offers a camouflaged environment for my "weathered" unit.  Thanks, Chris, for doing that great weathering job.  We really miss you and Lela!

A "going away" shot of my train passing the tipple.

The clean meets the dirty!  (Big grin!)

Super trackwork Fred!

Great lighting here.

Westbound through Spruce.

An earlier shot in Ironwood.

Mr. Marcel...

...and Lisa hold a nice chat.

A final look at that lovely baggage car.

Thanks, Fred, for offering up a great morning of train fun.
Check in over the next few days for a final installment where I finish my run with my Canadian National road switcher.
All the best, Mike Hamer, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
